Maggie Milsom, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Maggie helps teens and adults get free of OCD, anxiety, panic and sleep problems. She has particular depth with the forms of OCD people find hardest to talk about, and a calm, collaborative way of working that makes them easier to say out loud.

Areas of Practice
Practice Focus
Maggie's practice focus is OCD, anxiety and panic, and family violence. Within OCD, she has particular depth with distressing and taboo intrusive thoughts and with OCD in teens. She also works with body dysmorphic disorder, hair pulling and skin picking, health anxiety, emetophobia (fear of vomiting), grief and loss, and return-to-work support through vocational rehabilitation.
How Maggie Works
Maggie doesn't rely on a single type of therapy. She draws on several evidence-based approaches and chooses what fits the person and the problem in front of her. Her work is trauma-informed, collaborative and practical.
Drawing on two decades as a professional actor, she also uses creative techniques like role-play to help clients rehearse new ways of responding.

About Maggie
Maggie came to therapy work after more than 20 years as a film, television and classical theatre actor, and that experience still shapes how she works. She has also volunteered with the UBC B.R.A.I.N. Lab and spent over a decade volunteering with the Vancouver Police Department, giving her a grounded perspective on trauma and mental health.
She brings a personal understanding of how OCD affects families, which informs the care and patience she offers clients.
Outside of work, Maggie is a black belt judoka and keeps her balance through snowboarding, scuba diving and gardening.
